Aluminium Material Grades We Work With
Aluminium 6061
The most versatile of the heat-treatable Aluminium alloys, while keeping most of the good qualities of Aluminium. This grade has a great range of mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. It can be fabricated by most of the commonly used techniques and it has good workability in the annealed condition.
Aluminium 6082
Aluminium 6082 is a medium strength alloy with excellent corrosion resistance. It has the highest strength of the 6000 series alloys. 6082 is known as a structural alloy. In plate form, 6082 is the alloy most commonly used for machining. As a relatively new Aluminium alloy, the high strength of Aluminium 6082, such as high tensile strength, has allowed it to replace Aluminium 6061 in many applications.
Aluminium 6063
Commonly known as an architectural alloy. It has reasonably high mechanical properties, excellent finishing characteristics and a high degree of resistance to corrosion. Most often found in various interior and exterior architectural applications and trim. Aluminium 6063 is used for Aluminium extrusion applications.
Aluminium 7075
Aluminium 7075 is one of the highest strength Aluminium alloys available. It has an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, and it is ideally used for highly stressed parts. 7075 Aluminium is a typical material used in the aviation industry with complex structure and high precision.
Aluminium 2024
Aluminium 2024 is used in applications requiring high strength to weight ratio, as well as good fatigue resistance. It is not weldable and has average machinability. 2024 has poor corrosion resistance, not quite suitable for anodization.
Aluminium 5052
This is the highest strength alloy of the more non-heat-treatable grades. Its fatigue strength is higher than most other Aluminium grades. It has good resistance to the marine atmosphere and saltwater corrosion and excellent workability.
